Basic First Aid with Covid-19 Guidelines: This Basic First Aid Training Course is suitable for anyone who might have to respond to emergencies in the home, workplace or in the community. This basic first aid training course will also enable learners to act as a back up to qualified First Aid Responders in the workplace. Participants will gain the necessary skills and knowledge to use a range of practical basic first aid skills which will enable them to deal competently and confidently with common injuries and illnesses. Learners will also be trained in the basic techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and AED and the action to take in the event of a person choking. In the event that first aid is required in the workplace it may not be possible to maintain a distance of 2 metres. Workers responding to an emergency in the workplace during the C-19 pandemic should be provided with updated training on infection prevention and control principles including performance of hand hygiene and appropriate use of personal protective equipment when attending the emergency.

  • Topic 2: Choking, Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attack & Stroke
  • Topic 3: Practical Demonstration
  • Topic 4: Common Medical Emergencies
  • Topic 5: Injury Management & Shock
  • Topic 6: Burns, Electrical & Chemical Injury

Course Format

This training will be delivered online and requires a computer/device connected to the internet and is running on a web browser. The course contains audio so participants will require headphones or speakers plugged into the computer or device to listen to it.


Course Layout

The course covers 6 topics as required by the Covid-19 Specific National Protocol for Employers and Workers. Approximate duration 3 hours.


Course Certification

After completing all topics, participants will take an assessment to test their knowledge. Once each assessment for each topic is completed, participants can proceed to download a certificate of completion. This should be available for inspection if required.


Course Cost

65.00 Euro per person, funding available by Next Level Funding to reduce the cost to 35.75 Euro per person.

Funding Eligibility

This course has been approved by Next Level Skillnet for funding. Next Level Skillnet members are given financial support with training costs (fee subvention) for their employees. This can be as much as 40% of the course cost.

Becoming a member of our network is easy. There is no membership fee required however your company must match the following criteria:

– Your company must not be a public-sector company.

– Your company must either be paying employee’s fees directly or else reimbursing employees that pay their own fees.
